3 Day Hope Getaway Safari
Tumaini La Maisha (TLM), meaning “Hope for Life” in Swahili, is a Tanzanian non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to providing free, high-quality cancer treatment to children across Tanzania.
Established in 2011 and headquartered at Muhimbili National Hospital in Dar es Salaam, TLM collaborates with its sister organizations, Their Lives Matter Ireland and Their Lives Matter UK, to form the collective “We Are TLM.”
Vision: No child in Tanzania suffers or dies unnecessarily from cancer.
Mission: Ensure that children with cancer in Tanzania have appropriate access to quality services leading to cure rates comparable to those in resource-rich settings

DAY 1: Arrival in Selous Game Reserve
By Road
- Early pickup from your designated location and departure from Dar es Salaam by road, with an approximate 4-5 hour drive to Serena Mivumo River Lodge

- Arrival & Check-in – Enjoy a seamless check-in with Soraya, a refreshing welcome drink, and a brief introduction to the camp’s amenities and activities.
By Flight
- Chauffeur transfer by Soraya from your home in Dar es Salaam to the airport.
- Arrive at Selous Airstrip via a 1-hour charter flight.
- Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly greeted by a Soraya Tour & Safari representative.
- Scenic 20 min from the airstrip to Selous Serena Camp
- Arrival & Check-in – Enjoy a seamless check-in with Soraya, a refreshing welcome drink, and a brief introduction to the camp’s amenities and activities.
- Savor a delicious lunch at the camp, prepared with fresh, local ingredients.
Afternoon Experiences:
- Relax & Unwind – Settle into your luxurious tent and explore the camp’s amenities at your leisure.
- Boat Safari on the Rufiji River – Embark on a guided boat safari, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and an array of bird species in their natural habitat.

DAY 2: Full Day Game Safari Adventure

- Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the camp before heading out for a thrilling game drive across Selous’ vast landscapes. Keep an eye out for elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, and more.
- Continue Game Drive – Venture deeper into the reserve for more exciting wildlife sightings.
Afternoon Experiences:
- Bush Picnic Lunch – Enjoy an exotic bush lunch set in the heart of the reserve, surrounded by nature, thoughtfully curated by Soraya Experience for a truly unique dining experience.
- Walking Safari – Take a guided walk through Selous, uncovering the smaller wonders of the reserve, including unique flora, fascinating insects, and vibrant birdlife, for a truly immersive experience.
Evening Experiences:
- Evening Game Drive – Enjoy an exciting game drive as the sun sets, with the chance to spot nocturnal wildlife before heading back to camp.

- Visit to a Local Village or Cultural Experience – take a short excursion to a nearby village or enjoy a cultural performance at the camp.
- Before heading out, take some time to enjoy the final amenities at the camp.
Afternoon Experiences:
- Final Lunch at the Camp – Savor your last meal in the heart of Selous, surrounded by its stunning natural beauty.
- Begin preparing for checkout and make your way to the airstrip for your flight, or start your journey back to Dar es Salaam by road.
- End your weekend getaway at Selous Game Park with unforgettable memories of wildlife, adventure, and tranquility, leaving with a heart full of stories to tell and a spirit rejuvenated by nature’s wonders.
Your Onwards Journey:
- By Car: Enjoy a comfortable transfer back to Dar es Salaam by road, with all arrangements handled by Soraya personnel for a smooth return journey.
- By Flight: Be transferred to Selous Airstrip by Soraya staff for your charter flight back to Dar es Salaam or onward destination.
